Rebecca Hunting Pompon, Ph.D., is Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders and Director of the Aphasia and Rehabilitation Outcomes (ARO) Lab at the University of Delaware. She received a Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Washington and has a clinical background in adult mental health and counseling; her prior career was in non-profit development in the health and social justice sectors. Her research focuses on post-stroke aphasia and its rehabilitation, the measurement of psychological factors, the integration of these measures in aphasia assessment and to explore rehabilitation outcomes. Dr. Hunting Pompon’s research has been funded by the Veterans Administration/Rehabilitation Research and Development and the National Institutes of Health/National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders. She is an editorial board member of the journal Aphasiology, produces an interview series called Level Up Aphasia, and trains clinicians in counseling skills, interpersonal communication strategies, and clinical-professional development.
