The Cognitive Disorders Center at the Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciences, UT Health Austin provides assessment and treatment for individuals with dementia and other kinds of neurodegenerative disease. The in-house speech-language pathologist specializes in assessment and treatment of aphasia and other communication impairment in individuals with dementia or neurodegenerative disease. The speech-language pathologist collaborates with other members of the care team, including neurologists, psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, and neuropsychologists, to ensure that treatment is individualized to meet the communication needs of each patient.
