Cue Name apps
Cue Name: Objects – this is an app with a straightforward interface to work in speech therapy or at home. The main focus is for naming practice with clear, colorful images. Users can also work on repetition, writing, forming sentences, and describing with these pictures. Vocabulary level can be selected (simple, moderate, complex). 3 cues are available (first letter cue, full printed word cue, voice cue) as needed for success. Downloaded on iphone, ipad, Android or tablet for only $4.99.
Cue Name : Actions – this has the same interface. This focus is on naming verbs (-ing words). Action words are often overlooked but can carry full conceptual meaning to communicate wants and needs. Also available in the Apple Store or Google Play for $4.99.
There is an abundance of evidence that a higher dosage of treatment in aphasia rehab is beneficial, yet insurance limitations often end therapy after only a few months. There is no plateau! Apps provide a resource for people with aphasia to work on their language as much as they want. Cue Name apps are designed to be user-friendly. They are affordable. There are several languages in the settings for culturally diverse and bilingual individuals. My hope is that these apps reach people who are looking for ways to enhance their recovery.
