PPA Chat is for people with PPA / PPAOS and their communication partners to learn, share strategies, and connect with others. We start as a group, sometimes with a short presentation. Then, we split into breakout rooms based on PPA type or symptoms, including a room for care partners.

This inclusive, aphasia-friendly group addresses a wide range of topics, including sharing tips and some of the challenges faced living while Black and struck by an invisible, severely underknown disability called aphasia.  We welcome all who acknowledge the existence of the unique challenges each quality poses and support the mission of creating an emotional refuge for Black people living with aphasia.

Join us for an evening support group for care partners and communication parters of people with primary progressive aphasia (PPA) and primary progressive apraxia of speech (PPAOS). This is a space for care partners, family, and friends of people with PPA/PPAOS to share resources and strategies, learn about and increase awareness of PPA/PPAOS, and find community with one another. Advised by Kiiya Shibata (NAA PPA Coordinator) and Zoe Ezzes.

Young adults with aphasia have a unique experience in the aphasia community. Join us to learn, share strategies, and advocate for relationships, work, school, health care and insurance, therapy, and more. This program is advised by Kitti Tong and Katie Breece, both of whom are young adults with aphasia.

Participants learn about using and advocating for technology such as apps, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, smartphones, AI, and more. We discuss how to use and personalize the many options that are out there so you can become more independent in your environment. This group is advised by Brooke Lang and Bryn Bowles

Join us to support well-being in your daily life. This may include movement, mindfulness, social connection, nutrition, or music and art. Participants share ideas and learn to approaches to living well with aphasia. This group is advised by Katherine Noyes and Sharon Mosley.
