What is the Night of Aphasia Arts?

Night of Aphasia Arts is an annual special event hosted by the National Aphasia Association that showcases creative work by people with aphasia.

Each year, artists share their work in a virtual gallery and live event that highlights expression in all forms—not just speech.

Art, music, writing, movement, video, and digital works all communicate meaning—without relying on spoken language. Night of Aphasia Arts honors these many ways of expressing identity, emotion, and connection.

Who Can Submit Art?

People living with aphasia are invited to submit original work in any creative medium, including (but not limited to):

  • Visual art (painting, drawing, photography, collage)
  • Writing (poetry, short text, storytelling)
  • Music or sound
  • Movement or dance
  • Video or digital art; mixed media

Support partners, caregivers, or clinicians may assist with the submission process.

The deadline to submit art is February 24, 2026 at 5:00pm ET.
