What is the research about?

  • This study requires 4 visits. All visits are in-person.
  • You will be compensated for your time.
  • The treatments involve various computerized language tasks: listening to sentences, reading sentences out loud with the computer, and reading sentences on your own.
  • First, you will complete 2 sessions of background language and memory testing.
  • Next, you will participate in 2 different language treatments.

Who is this study for?

  • At least 18 years old
  • At least 6 months since your stroke
  • Aphasia caused by a stroke
  • English-speaking
  • Communication difficulty

Who is this study not for?

  • History of learning disabilities
  • Neurological disorders (other than stroke, aphasia)
  • Severe motor speech disorders
