Be The Voice That Spreads Awareness.

The NAA Ambassador Program, launched in 2025, empowers people with aphasia, care partners, professionals, and allies to be advocates and educators in their own communities. Whether you’re hosting a conversation at a local event or simply sharing resources, every voice makes a difference.

Respect
Foster deeper understanding and respect for people living with aphasia.
Collaboration
Work with organizations to share tools and spread awareness.
Diversity
Reach underserved communities most affected by aphasia.
Advocacy
Grow a national network of informed advocates: people with aphasia, families, friends, students, and professionals.

What Is the NAA Ambassador Program?

The NAA Ambassador Program is a national network of volunteers raising awareness about aphasia through community outreach, education, and advocacy. Ambassadors speak with schools, businesses, churches, civic groups, and the public—helping more people understand aphasia and how to communicate effectively with those affected by it.

We’re building a world where everyone knows the word “aphasia,” and no one with aphasia feels invisible.

Who Can Become an Ambassador?

Anyone touched by aphasia—people with aphasia, family members, caregivers, professionals, or supporters—is welcome to apply. All you need is passion and a desire to help others understand aphasia.  You will be sent additional information and a training presentation to help get you up to speed.  We also have a Mentoring program if you would appreciate some support on this advocacy journey.

What You'll Do

Ambassadors choose their own path. You might:

  • Hand out flyers at a health fair
  • Speak at a school or hospital
  • Share stories on social media
  • Mentor new Ambassadors
  • Suggest events or speaking venues through our outreach committee

There’s no time commitment—you decide how involved you want to be. Every action helps.

What You'll Get

As part of the program, you’ll have access to:

  • Educational materials (flyers, PowerPoints, videos)
  • Support from our team and other Ambassadors
  • Publicity for your advocacy efforts
  • Badges and recognition for your contributions
  • Opportunities to connect, learn, and grow with others in the program

Built By the Aphasia Community

This program was designed by people with aphasia for people with aphasia and their allies. A team of Ambassadors leads committees on outreach, mentorship, marketing, and resources—ensuring the program continues to reflect the community’s voice.
