Elsie Keifer earned her B.A. in Media & Communication Studies from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. After completing her degree, she pursued a year of service with Good Shepherd Volunteers in Nong Khai, Thailand. There, she worked as an administrative and marketing assistant for a fair trade crafting organization whose mission was to provide dignified work and fair wages to men and women living in poverty with HIV/AIDS.

 

Upon her return to the U.S., Elsie began working in corporate events production.
However, she kept a foot in the door of the nonprofit world by serving as a junior board member for Good Shepherd Volunteers. After a few years, she chose to shift her focus back to non-profit work and accepted the position of Program Assistant for GSV. Always passionate about doing what she can to serve and support others, she was eager to join the team at the National Aphasia Association in May 2024.
