Aphasia assessment (Both Virtual or In Person)
-Detailed language testing for expressive and receptive language skills -Assessments for reading and writing abilities Assessment of cognitive language functions -Identification of language deficits and communication strengths
Aphasia Diagnosis (Both Virtual or In Person)
Identification of language impairments caused by brain injury or stroke -Determination of the specific type of aphasia (e.g., Broca’s, Wernicke’s, Anomic, Global) -Understanding the relationship between language difficulties and cognitive or motor functions -Collaboration with medical professionals (neurologists, psychologists) for a holistic diagnosis
Aphasia Treatment (Both Virtual or In Person)
Speech Therapy: Targeted therapy sessions with a speech-language pathologist to work on language skills through exercises, drills, and real-world practice. - Language Stimulation: Techniques to encourage speech production and comprehension, such as naming objects, repeating phrases, or following directions. -Cognitive-Communication Therapy: Helping individuals improve memory, attention, and executive functions that may support language use. -Group Therapy: Social interaction and practice in a group setting to help individuals use communication skills in real-life scenarios. -Technological Tools: Utilization of speech-generating devices or apps to assist with communication. -Family Support and Education: Educating family members and caregivers about aphasia and strategies to enhance communication and daily interactions.
Aphasia Support Group (Virtual)
Remote complementary weekly group to support language, communication and social skills while providing support and resources.
