The NAA’s core mission includes to provide support for people with aphasia and spread aphasia awareness. PPA Chats is one of several groups that we offer for individuals with primary progressive aphasia (PPA) and primary progressive apraxia of speech (PPAOS), as well as their communication partners.
PPA Chats offer opportunities to connect, share experiences, and learn through short educational presentations and guest speakers focused on PPA. Group advisors are experienced speech-language pathologists and researchers. These chats take place twice a month on Fridays at 2:30 pm ET. By signing up on the NAA website, you’ll receive monthly emails with the schedule and Zoom links. You can also find the upcoming schedule and recurring Zoom link at the bottom of this page.
During each chat, participants spend a brief time in a large group and then move to breakout rooms based on type of PPA symptoms. Communication partners are welcome to join to support the person with PPA. There is also a breakout room specifically for communication partners to connect with each other. You can receive updates and Zoom links for this and other upcoming PPA programming by joining the PPA Chat mailing list.
