About the creators of the Situational Wallet Cards:

Bryn Lander was living and working in Alaska as an ICU nurse at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage. In the summer of 2019, Bryn suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm while running in Anchorage, resulting in two massive brain hemorrhages, paralysis, apraxia of speech and aphasia. Bryn’s recovery continues today. Bryn loves connecting and encouraging other Persons with Aphasia as well as advocating for intensive, comprehensive aphasia therapy for stroke and brain injury survivors.

Brooke Lang is a Speech-Language Pathologist in the Pittsburgh area specializing in Aphasia and Apraxia treatment. With over ten years of experience, she has worked as a lead clinician in the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System’s intensive aphasia program (PIRATE) and as a research assistant alongside leading Aphasiologists. She has also provided telepractice services through private practice. Motivated by seeing too many individuals with Aphasia discharged before reaching their full potential, Brooke founded her own practice to prove that recovery never ends—with dedication, personalized care, and hope, ongoing progress is always possible.
