What is the research about?
- We are recruiting stroke survivors with alexia. This is a reading difficulty after stroke.
- The goal of this study is to understand how reading can be impacted by stroke. We hope to improve the diagnosis and treatment of alexia.
- This study includes reading, language, and cognitive tests. It also includes an optional MRI.

Who is this study for?
- Stroke to the left hemisphere (left side) of the brain
- 18 years or older
- Learned English before the age of 8
Who is this study not for?
- History of other neurological disorders (e.g., MS, tumor, etc.)
- History of major psychiatric condition (e.g., schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, etc.)
- History of a learning disability (e.g., developmental dyslexia)
Will I be compensated for this study, or are there costs?
$50 per session in cash
