We welcome all who acknowledge the existence of the unique challenges each quality poses and support the mission of creating an emotional refuge for Black people living with aphasia.
Access MaterialsThis group will bring popular TV game shows to life in an aphasia-friendly way. We will play games like Jeopardy, Family Feud, and Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Come and join in on the fun!
Access MaterialsThis monthly group welcomes care partners of people who have aphasia due to stroke or brain injury. Group advisor, Abbe Simon, reminds clients that aphasia does not just impact the person who has it. The group will be a space for care partners to share, inquire, support, and learn. Friends, family members, colleagues, all are welcome. Hosted virtually via Zoom by the National Aphasia Association.

Access MaterialsJoin us for an evening support group for communication and care partners of people with primary progressive aphasia and primary progressive apraxia of speech (PPA/PPAOS). This is a space for care partners, family, and friends of people with PPA/PPAOS to find community with one another. Hosted virtually via Zoom by the National Aphasia Association.
Access MaterialsPPA Chats are for people with PPA and their communication partners. We start as a group, sometimes with a short presentation. Then, we split into breakout rooms based on PPA type or symptoms, so you can talk with others in a similar situation. Communication partners are welcome to assist during the chat, like using supports (i.e., key words, help with words, etc.). There’s also a breakout room for communication partners to connect with each other.

This peer-led conversation group meets once a month to discuss all things related to travel and culture. In this aphasia-friendly space, we will be sharing our travel experiences, exploring a variety of cultures, discussing places we have been and want to go, exchanging travel tips, and much more. This group is advised by Craig Smith and Genevieve Richardson (Founder of LIFE Speech Pathology).
