Alfee – Aphasia Practice
Alfee is a free website and mobile app of aphasia practice exercises for adults recovering from stroke or brain injury. It supports multiple languages, including Spanish and Portuguese, with no sign-up, no tracking, and nothing to buy.
The exercises cover reading, listening comprehension, and matching words to pictures, with a deliberately simple, low-distraction interface designed for people who find most apps and websites hard to navigate. New practice content is added over time, so the latest set is best seen in the app itself.
Alfee is meant to support practice between speech therapy sessions, not to replace work with a speech-language pathologist.
About the Creator:
I’m Tabrez Syed, a software developer and entrepreneur. My mom’s stroke was the first time I’d ever heard the word “aphasia.” Looking for something she could use to keep practicing on her own between speech therapy sessions, I couldn’t find anything that quite fit, so I built a simple app and focused on keeping it easy to use, since she had a hard time with most phones and apps.
I later put it out for free so other families and clinicians could use it too. I’m not a speech-language pathologist myself — Alfee is a personal project meant to support professional therapy, not replace it.
