Obla
Obla is an AI-powered speech practice platform designed to make pronunciation practice more accessible, engaging, and effective — at home and in the clinic.
For people living with aphasia, consistent practice between therapy sessions is one of the most powerful predictors of progress, yet it’s often the hardest thing to sustain. Obla closes that gap. Using real-time speech recognition, it listens to every word, phrase, or reading passage a user practices and delivers instant feedback — down to the exact word or syllable that needs work — so practice is never guesswork.
For users, practice feels like progress, not a chore. Target the exact letter or sound you want to master, and Obla keeps generating fresh words and phrases instead of the same flashcard words on repeat.
For therapists, Obla can be used to build custom word lists, phrases, and reading passages tailored to each client’s goals, assign them as homework, and track measurable progress between sessions — turning therapy into a continuous, data-informed journey rather than a once-a-week reset.
Obla was built on a simple belief: everyone deserves the tools to practice their voice as often as they need, guided by technology that meets them where they are.
About the creator:
Adam is an HR consultant based in Atlanta, GA. In 2024, his father suffered a stroke and began his recovery working to regain his speech. As they explored speech practice apps to support his recovery, they realized there was a gap they could help address — and that became the starting point for Obla.
