What is the research about?
- How speech therapists and physical therapists can work together in nature or with horses to provide therapy for aphasia and motor function
- Random assignment to horse-based OR nature-based environment
- Treatment is 4 weeks, 2x/week, for 1.5-2.0 hours per session
- Individualized treatment goals
- Pre-treatment and post-treatment testing with PT and SLP

Can I participate virtually?
No
Who is this study for?
- Stroke survivors 18-75 years old who have aphasia and motor difficulties
- Walk independently (with or without a cane/quad cane)
- Able to sit on a horse for ~30 minutes with help from therapists
- Able to follow simple verbal instructions in English
Who is this study not for?
- Severe to profound cognitive impairments
- Severe psychiatric disorders
Will I be compensated for this study, or are there costs?
$500 for study participation and $165 travel stipend if you live outside of Missoula
