The National Aphasia Association is pleased to share information about the Aphasia Therapy Finder (ATF) — a free online tool designed to help clinicians, educators, and students access evidence-based aphasia therapy resources.
How is the Aphasia Therapy Finder different from a listing of providers, such as the NAA Provider Directory?
The ATF helps professionals learn about therapy approaches and evidence-based treatment resources, while the NAA Provider Directory helps individuals and families locate aphasia providers and programs.
Looking for an aphasia provider or program?
What Is the Aphasia Therapy Finder?
The Aphasia Therapy Finder was developed because it can be difficult for therapists to find and access resources related to evidence-based aphasia therapies. Also, individuals who receive speech therapy and other programming want to know that the approaches are effective! It’s your right to know what and why approaches are being utilized.
Evidence-based therapy uses research and real-world experience to support better care.
The Aphasia Therapy Finder tool provides:
- evidence summaries
- therapy descriptions
- clinical resources
- implementation support for aphasia therapies
Since launching in July 2024, more than 8,000 clinicians, educators, and students from 77 countries have registered to use the platform. It is important to therapists that they are doing the very best for YOU!
Who Is the Aphasia Therapy Finder For?
The Aphasia Therapy Finder is primarily designed for speech-language pathologists, students, educators and researchers.
People with aphasia and families may also find it helpful for learning more about therapy approaches and current evidence-based practices.
New Research Study Underway
Researchers are currently conducting an international study to better understand:
- Who is using the Aphasia Therapy Finder
- How it is being used
- How it can be improved
The study includes:
- A 10–20 minute anonymous online survey
- Optional participation in online focus groups
Who Can Participate?
The survey is open to clinicians, educators, and students who already have a registered account on the Aphasia Therapy Finder.
How Do I Access the Survey?
Simply log in to your account at aphasiatherapyfinder.com
The survey will be available through the platform.
This study has received ethics approval from the University of Queensland Human Research Ethics Committee (approval number 2025/HE001966).
Supporting Evidence-Based Aphasia Care
At the National Aphasia Association, we are encouraged by collaborations that help strengthen access to evidence-based aphasia care, clinical knowledge, and research-informed practice around the world.
We appreciate opportunities like this that help bridge research and real-world implementation — ultimately supporting better care and better outcomes for people living with aphasia.
